What is Speech Language Pathology?
Speech language pathology is a specialized healthcare service that helps individuals improve their ability to communicate and, when needed, their ability to swallow safely. Provided by licensed speech-language pathologists, therapy may focus on speech clarity, language development, voice quality, social communication, cognitive-communication skills, or swallowing function.
Speech language pathology supports people of all ages—children developing language, adults recovering from stroke or brain injury, or individuals managing conditions that affect communication. Through personalized exercises, strategies, and education, speech language pathology empowers individuals to express themselves more effectively, build confidence, and improve their overall quality of life.
We want your goals to be our goal—and we want to hear it from you!
Our speech-language pathology program is designed to help individuals strengthen their communication and swallowing abilities in a supportive, encouraging environment. Whether recovering from a stroke, living with a neurological condition, or addressing speech and language delays, the speech-language pathologists on our team create personalized therapy plans to meet each person’s unique needs.
Using consistent strategies, intentional and timed cuing, engaging activities, and guided practice, we work together to improve the clarity of expressed ideas, the confidence in which ideas are relayed, and the independence with which it is executed.
Currently, Centered Care partners with amazing SLP therapist organizations to offer services and is actively working on adding a SLP therapist to our growing team.
